Chalk board paint is a type of paint that turns almost any surface into a chalkboard – ready for writing. This paint contains extremely hard pigments and as a result, scratch marks won’t be seen on the surface. It is usable on most surfaces, including metal, wood, glass, plastic, paperboard, hardboard, concrete walls etc.
Chalkboard paint is great for not only children projects, but also for note boards in the kitchen, in the workplace or if you just feel like doing ‘something different’ in your home. Chalkboard paint dries quickly, making it usable after just 30 minutes after re-application. If you are applying it for the first time though, you will need to wait a few days for it to settle. If you do not feel like spending too much money on buying this paint, it can easily be made at home. This means that you have a larger scope of colours to make your chalkboard paint from, not just the usual colours. For every 237 milliliters of paint, add 2 tablespoons of powdered tile grout and stir well. It is recommended that you paint a layer of primer before you apply the chalkboard paint.
